Award for Aviation Marketing
Routes Marketing Award 2005 for Schoenefeld

A major success for Berlin Schoenefeld Airport SXF
At the Routes Conference 2005 in Copenhagen, the airport received the coveted marketing award for innovative and successful marketing.
The award, voted by network planners of the world’s 230 largest airlines, came in recognition of the rapid growth in traffic at Schoenefeld over the past two years, and in particular for having successfully attracted several new airlines, together with the opening of easyJet and Germanwings Stations.
The addition of the new airlines makes Schoenefeld one of the most successful airports in Europe.
Burkhard Kieker, Berlin Airports Head of Marketing, points out: “Schoenefeld Airport has now become an excellent gateway into the German capital, Berlin. In the past few years, we have been able to convince a large number of airlines, including Germanwings, easyJet, Norwegian and Aer Lingus, to come to Schoenefeld.
The new routes reinforce the economic life and leisure and tourism industry of Berlin and Brandenburg. For staff at Schoenefeld Airport, the award is confirmation that innovative ideas and commitment are rewarded.
The growth course at Schoenefeld continues.” The prestigious marketing award is presented to airports in five different size categories. The Routes Conference has been held annually in different locations since 1995, and is the leading global meeting place for the airline and airport industry.
